San Francisco, California
Come join an exciting discussion about how building owners, developers and tenants will all be impacted by the upcoming changes to the energy building code and how to address them in your projects! Requirements are scheduled to increase every three years until 2030 when California will require all new commercial buildings to be Zero Energy (for residential, this requirement begins in 2020).The good news is that we have all the technology, financial tools, and implementation methods to make Zero Energy Buildings (ZEB) profitable today. ULI has created a program that will enable the CRE community to quickly learn about ZEB. Participants to the program will walk away with:§ Understanding of key state policies (SB 350, ZEBs, benchmarking) driving deep retrofits§ Highlights of a soup-to-nuts approach to identifying best practices, methodology, and key energy reducing technologies§ Spotlights of innovative financial mechanisms that can cover 100% of the financing needed to do a ZEB project and explain how “green” buildings result in higher occupancy and rents for owners§ Provide a forum for owners and tenants to share their perspectives on the challenges and opportunities with ZEBsThe program will include four industry panelists representing policy, developer, tenant, and landlord perspectives on why zero energy buildings matter and how to achieve them. Attendees will receive a handout to take back to their firms.
