Biography

K. Erik "Rick" Friess has over 25 years of experience as a trial attorney, with particularly deep experience in eminent domain, inverse condemnation, land use, and other real estate disputes. He has represented landowners, businesses, and public agencies in countless large, multi-million dollar cases. Given his comprehensive perspective on eminent domain, land use, and other real estate issues, clients frequently seek his advice on strategic planning regarding land acquisition, valuation, and land planning and entitlement issues.

Education

In 1987, Rick received a B.A. in urban studies and planning at Revelle College of the University of California, San Diego. Rick received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1990.
