The tax and joint venture practice group at Allen Matkins enjoys a national reputation for its sophisticated and innovative approaches to a wide variety of business and tax planning issues. Our aim is to understand each of our client's needs and goals and provide them with practical-based business advice, while structuring their transactions in a tax-efficient manner.

Our group includes individuals with extensive practical experience and outstanding credentials. The majority of our tax attorneys hold advanced law degrees specializing in taxation or CPA certificates. A number of our tax attorneys have also served as attorney advisors to federal judges at the U.S. Tax Court. These credentials provide our tax attorneys with a perspective of business transactions not available to other business attorneys not versed in the workings of our federal and state tax systems.

The tax practice covers the full spectrum of taxation with a particular specialty in business organizations and pass-through entities such as partnerships, joint ventures and limited liability companies. Our tax practice is unique to that of other firms in that not only are our tax attorneys involved in the tax planning aspects of any given transaction, they are often involved in the strategic business planning and the drafting and negotiation of the documentation that memorializes the transaction. As a result, our tax attorneys work with a wide variety of sophisticated clients in handling complex business transactions and are uniquely positioned to provide balanced, practical, expert advice.
