Scott M. Dommes

Biography

Scott M. Dommes is an associate in the firm's Los Angeles office practicing in the firm's Tax and Joint Venture Group. Scott has experience in a broad range of taxation matters, including partnerships, corporations, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings; consolidated returns, executive compensation, equity-based compensation and international tax. Additionally, Scott has experience with U.S. tax compliance for both corporations and partnerships, as well as financial accounting, including income tax provisions.

Prior to joining Allen Matkins, Scott was an associate at Latham & Watkins LLP and in the transaction advisory services group of a Big 4 accounting firm. Scott also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Chief Judge Vaughn R. Walker of the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California.

Education

Scott received his B.A. from the University of California, Davis, with honors; his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law; and his LL.M. in taxation, with highest distinction, from Loyola Law School Los Angeles. While attending Hastings College of the Law, Scott was a staff member and a senior notes editor of the Hastings Law Review and was made a member of The Order of the Coif.
