Biography

Amy E. Lehman is senior counsel in our San Francisco office, where she is a member of the Real Estate group. Amy has broad real estate experience, including real estate finance, acquisitions and dispositions, and commercial leasing.

Amy is experienced in general real estate finance matters, including commercial lending transactions, structured finance and financial restructuring. She represents lenders (including conduit lenders), servicers and borrowers in the negotiation and documentation of loan originations, loan assumptions and loan servicing matters. She also is experienced in negotiating and documenting note purchases and subsequent foreclosures and/or deeds-in-lieu of foreclosure.

Amy represents a wide variety of clients in the acquisition, disposition and development of real estate, including office buildings, shopping centers, commercial mixed-use projects and multi-family housing projects. She also represents landlords and tenants in the preparation, negotiation and review of office leases, ground leases, subleases, license agreements and related documentation.

Prior to joining the firm, Amy's practice focused on mortgage-backed public securities offerings and private placements. She also has experience representing parties in whole loan mortgage transactions and in the sale of mortgage servicing rights.

Prior to joining Allen Matkins, Amy was an associate at Dechert LLP and Bingham McCutchen LLP in Washington, D.C.

Education

Amy received her B.A. in economics from Pomona College. She received her J.D. from University of Michigan Law School, where she received the Scholarly Writing Award, Honors Convocation and served as Executive Editor of the Michigan Journal of Law Reform.
