Biography

Megan A. Mazza is senior counsel in the firm's Litigation Group. Megan represents clients in all aspects of real estate development litigation and general business litigation.

Megan has experience representing real estate developers in large consumer fraud cases and class actions, cases involving contracts for the purchase and sale of land for development including the entitlement process, disputes related to commercial contracts, construction, disputes with sub-contractors, disputes between developers and brokers, condemnation and eminent domain, easement disputes, consumer purchase and sale agreement disputes and antitrust claims.

Megan handles all phases of litigation and has experience with all aspects of trial. Most significantly, she second-chaired a four-week jury trial that resulted in a complete victory for the client. Megan has also served as lead counsel in multiple arbitrations.

In addition to her work for businesses and developers, Megan is committed to pro bono service in the community. She most recently assisted a pro bono client in recovering disability benefits he was owed.

Before joining Allen Matkins, she was an associate at Luce Forward Hamilton & Scripps.

Education

Megan received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 2004 and her B.A. in government, cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame in 2001. While at the University of Michigan Law School, she was a member of the Michigan Journal of Gender and Law.
