Biography
Thor D. McLaughlin is an associate in the San Francisco office, practicing in the firm's Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights and Litigation groups. He has experience representing debtors and creditors in all phases of chapter 11 bankruptcy, and in federal and state court litigation.
Prior to joining Allen Matkins, Thor practiced at Peitzman, Weg & Kempinsky LLP and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman.

Education
Thor received his J.D., cum laude, from Boston University School of Law in 2008. During law school, he served as Articles Editor for the Boston University Review of Banking and Financial Law. Thor published his note, “Eyes Wide Shut: Exchange Traded Funds, Index Arbitrage and the Need for Change,” in the Review. Thor was recognized as an Edward F. Hennessey Scholar from 2007 to 2008. He earned his B.S., summa cum laude, in business finance from the University of San Francisco in 2005 where he graduated as the valedictorian of the McLaren College of Business.
