Biography

Andrew Ouvrier is senior counsel in the firm’s Century City office and is a member of the firm’s real estate practice group and the firm’s shopping center and retail practice group.

Andrew’s primary practice is in real estate transactions, specifically the acquisition, disposition, development, leasing (including "green" leasing) and ongoing management of office, retail, and mixed-use projects. His practice includes the representation of landlords, tenants, sellers, buyers, developers, telecommunication companies, and other users of real estate. Andrew regularly represents some of the largest institutional land owners, including Beacon Capital Partners, CB Richard Ellis Investors, ING Clarion, J.P. Morgan Investment Management Inc., Kilroy Realty, Inc., RREEF America LLC, TIAA CREF, and Westfield Corporation, and well as institutional tenants such as AT&T, TowerCo, and General Electric Capital Corporation.

Heavily involved in the growing area of sustainable practices, Andrew is a LEED® Green Associate and regularly advises clients in connection with green leasing and sustainable practices. He is also co-editor of the Green Building Update, a weekly publication on green and sustainable building issues.

Andrew represents both buyers and sellers of commercial properties throughout California, Arizona and Washington, including industrial warehouse properties and office properties.

He also represents several major telecommunications companies in connection with leasing and other transactions related to telecommunications sites.

Andrew also represents landlords in connection with leasing of high end life-science space, and has even represented a landlord client in connection with the leasing of space in a historical landmark building in Hollywood in connection with the filming of several popular reality television shows.

Andrew also has a broad-range of experience in retail leasing and development representing both landlords and tenants, including build-to-suit and reverse build-to-suit leases.

With extensive experience in connection with office leasing, Andrew currently represents landlords in office projects totaling over 8 million square feet of space, including a 2.25 million square foot project in Century City, California, a 950,000 square foot project in Long Beach, California, and a 915,000 square foot project in San Francisco, California.

Education

Andrew received his J.D., cum laude, from Loyola Law School Los Angeles, in 2002, where he graduated Order of the Coif. He served as the Managing Editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review and is a Sayer Macneil Scholar and a member of the St. Thomas More Law Honor Society. He received his bachelor's degree, cum laude, from University of California, Los Angeles in 1998.
