  • Aeroterm USA (Annapolis, Maryland). Represented client in connection with obtaining approvals from Los Angeles World Airports and the City of Ontario for the development of a new air cargo facility at the Ontario International Airport.
  • Art Center College of Design (Pasadena, California). Represented client in connection with approval by the City of Pasadena for a new Master Plan for campus development. Represented client in negotiations with the City of Pasadena for a long term ground lease for City-owned property.
  • AT&T. Represented client in connection with the negotiation of a multi-carrier agreement with the Rose Bowl Operating Company to install a new state of the art wireless telecommunication system at the Rose Bowl stadium in the City of Pasadena.
  • Azusa Land Partners (Newport Beach, California). Conducted due diligence review and drafted assignment and assumption agreements and operating memoranda ensuring transfer of obligations from seller to buyer for the development of 1,250 new homes on the former Monrovia Nursery property in the City of Azusa. Assisted client in connection with litigation against the California Department of Industrial Relations regarding application of state prevailing wage requirements.
  • Azusa Pacific University (Azusa, California). Assisted in obtaining approvals from the City of Azusa for a new Specific Plan and Development Agreement for campus expansion. Represented client in connection with litigation against the State Historical Resources Commission for designation of drive-in movie theater owned by client as eligible for listing on the California Register of Historical Resources.
  • Beacon Capital Partners (Los Angeles, California). Conducted land use and zoning due diligence review in connection with the client's acquisition of the following properties: Union Bank Center, Seattle, Washington; 50 Beale Street San Francisco, California; Figueroa Plaza, Los Angeles, California; 1000 Wilshire, Los Angeles, California.
  • Beverly Wilshire Hotel (Beverly Hills, California). Represented client in connection with limiting scope of historical designation to allow future modification of non-historical elements.
  • The Chadmar Group (Santa Monica, California). Assisted residential developer to obtain entitlements from City of Marina for development of 1,050 new homes on former Fort Ord.
  • Clear Wireless. Represented client in connection with collocation of wireless telecommunication facilities on existing tower located on property owned by the City of La Mirada.
  • Cornishe of Bighorn (Ceres, California). Represented client in connection with obtaining approvals for a 38 unit residential condominium development in the City of Palm Desert and in connection with obtaining development approvals from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the California Department of Fish & Game.
  • Del Mar Station, LLC. Represented client in connection with the development of a combined light rail transit facility and mixed-use project consisting of a retail, office, and multi-family residential complex.
  • Empire Commercial (Ontario, California). Represented client in connection with obtaining approvals for a new multi-tenant retail center in the City of Palmdale.
  • Fuller Theological Seminary (Pasadena, California). Represented a private nondenominational theological seminary in connection with its application to the City of Pasadena for approval of a new campus master plan.
  • Harvey Mudd College (Claremont, California). Represented client in connection with approval by the City of Claremont of amendment to master plan for campus development. Represented client in connection with the approval of a subdivision and sale of undeveloped parcel for campus expansion.
  • IKEA (Carson, California). Represented client in connection with regulatory compliance action before the South Coast Air Quality Management District.
  • International Cargo Equipment Company (Los Angeles, California). Successfully defended the owner of a cargo container storage facility against criminal misdemeanor charges brought by the City of Los Angeles for maintaining a legal nonconforming use in Wilmington.
  • Lennar Communities (Aliso Viejo, California). Reviewed development approvals by the City of Irvine for the former El Toro Marine Air Station to assist client in successful acquisition of the property.
  • Los Angeles Unified School District (Los Angeles, California). Represented school district in connection with CEQA compliance for the development of more than 150 new school projects.
  • Ronald L. Loder (Laguna Beach, California). Represented homeowner in connection with successful appeal to Laguna Beach City Council of denial by Design Review Board for construction of single family home. Defense of client against CEQA suit subsequently filed by neighboring homeowners.
  • Mattel, Inc. (El Segundo, California). Represented client in connection with application to the City of El Segundo for a general plan amendment, specific plan, zone change, and development agreement for new world headquarters facilities.
  • Missionaries of Charity (Los Angeles, California). Provided pro bono representation of a religious order in connection with its application for approval by the City of Los Angeles to conduct an ongoing ministry to homeless young adults. Representation of client in connection with litigation against the City of Los Angeles for violation of constitutional and statutory rights to free exercise of religion.
  • North Broadway Ventures, LLC. Represented client in connection with the approval of a coastal development permit and variance in connection with the development of a new hotel in the City of Malibu.
  • RAD Management (Santa Monica, California). Represented client in connection with obtaining approval from the City of Los Angeles for the following projects: 1100 Wilshire – adaptive reuse of an existing vacant highrise office tower in downtown Los Angeles for the development of 228 residential condominium units; West L.A. Transportation Facility – development of a new state of the art bus maintenance facility for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in Los Angeles; 100 East Sunset Avenue – development of a new 214 unit mixed use project in Los Angeles.
  • Rady Children's Hospital (San Diego, California). Represented client in connection with prevailing wage determination by the California Department of Industrial Relations.
  • Sares Regis Group (Irvine, California). Conducted due diligence review in connection with the client's acquisition of the Bressi Ranch development in the City of Carlsbad.
  • Sares Regis Group (Pasadena, California). Represented client in connection with obtaining approvals for the development of an 820 unit urban mixed use project in the City of Pasadena.
  • Sinclair Wind Farms, LLC (Kern County, California). Represented client in connection with the negotiation of leases for development of wind generation facility on undeveloped property located in Kern County.
  • Tesoro Viejo, Inc. Successfully defended client against multiple lawsuits brought pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act challenging approval of a new community consisting of 190 residential dwelling units and three million square feet of commercial and light industrial floor area on undeveloped land in southeast Madera County. Assist client in obtaining additional approvals for the project, including vesting tentative subdivision maps and water supply agreements.
