Biography
D. Stanley Rowland is a partner in the firm's San Francisco office and advises clients on corporate, securities and finance matters. Stan has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, public and private securities transactions, SEC compliance and reporting, the formation of private equity funds, domestic and international joint ventures, cross-border investments and the formation, organization and capitalization of new businesses. His clients include financial services, investment banking, venture capital, renewable energy, bio-tech, consumer products, manufacturing and hospitality industry companies, and range from individuals and early stage start-ups to multinational corporations.
Stan has significant experience with international transactions, having lived and worked in Asia for eight years. He opened and served as the managing partner of the Hong Kong office of Thelen from 1988 to 1994 and the Hong Kong office of Pillsbury Winthrop from 1994 to 1997. During this period he worked on transactions in almost every country in Asia.
Education
Stan graduated cum laude from the University of California at Berkeley with a B.A. in economics. He received his J.D., cum laude, from Cornell Law School in 1981.
