Biography
Nicholas S. Shantar is a member of the firm's Orange County Litigation group. He represents clients across a spectrum of industries, primarily in the real estate sector, including in purchase and sale disputes, landlord/tenant cases, and construction defect matters. He also has experience in land use, inverse condemnation, and administrative mandamus litigation, as well as cases involving common interest developments. Nicholas has also represented numerous companies in the technology industry, from international semiconductor companies to technology startups.
Prior to joining Allen Matkins, Nicholas was with the Los Angeles office of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, where he practiced complex commercial litigation. Before that, he was with the Los Angeles office of Jones Day, where he advised clients in connection with health care, products liability, unfair competition (Bus. & Prof. § 17200) and employment litigation.

Nicholas received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Boston University School of Law where he was editor-in-chief of the Boston University Law Review. He is a recipient of the Dr. John Ordronaux Prize, the highest distinction awarded by the School of Law, given annually to the member of the graduating class who has shown the greatest overall ability, character and conduct.
Nicholas received his B.A., magna cum laude, in philosophy from the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where he was awarded the Academic Achievement Award.
