Biography

Nicholas B. Waranoff is a partner in the Litigation and Real Estate departments of our San Francisco office. Nick has more than 37 years' experience helping companies solve problems.

He has handled all kinds of business litigation, including over 50 trials. He has handled cases involving breach of contract, disagreements between partners and dissolution of partnerships, truth in lending issues, letters of credit, the uniform commercial code, legal malpractice, fraud, interference with contract, and unfair business practices.

In real estate, he has an interdisciplinary practice that includes all aspects of real estate litigation (from antitrust to foreclosure-related litigation to landlord-tenant disputes to zoning). His practice also includes representation of landlords in bankruptcy cases filed by tenants, and negotiation of retail leases for both landlords and tenants.

Nick has presented programs and/or been a panelist on programs sponsored by the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Practising Law Institute, BOMA-SF, and the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of California.

Education

Nick graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. degree in 1967 and graduated from New York University School of Law with a J.D., cum laude, in 1971, where he was an editor of the Law Review and was awarded Order of the Coif.
