Pacific Gas and Electric, Southern California Edison, and San Diego Gas and Electric Issue Third Renewable Auction Mechanism Requests for Offers

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), Southern California Edison (SCE) and San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), three independently-owned utilities (IOUs), have each issued a third Renewable Auction Mechanism (RAM) Program Request for Offers (RAM Program RFO). The statewide goal of the RAM Program is to procure up to 1,000 MW of renewable energy from generating facilities, such as solar, wind and biomass, over a two-year period. The IOUs are requesting offers under the third RAM Program from interested parties (Participants) for the sale of electricity generated by small- and mid-sized eligible renewable energy facilities (Projects) for a contract term of 10, 15, or 20 years. Projects shall be more than 3 MW to 20 MW in size. Existing and new generation facilities are eligible. Under the RAM Program RFOs, each Project must be connected to one of the IOU's electric distribution or transmission systems. The solicitations for all three IOUs will be conducted simultaneously, and Participants may bid into all three solicitations.

The RAM Program allocates 420.9 MW of the statewide capacity goal to PG&E. PG&E's current procurement target is 132 MW. To view PG&E's third RAM Program RFO and related materials, please visit PG&E's website.
