Jonathan D. Berger

Associate

Jonathan is a real estate associate in the Century City office of Allen Matkins. He advises clients on a wide range of commercial real estate transactions, with a primary focus on acquisitions and dispositions and leasing matters across all asset classes. His experience spans deals of every scale and scope, from high-net-worth individuals acquiring single assets, to small family offices pursuing development work, to institutional investors managing nationwide portfolios.

Jonathan has significant experience leading due diligence efforts, identifying and resolving complex issues, and pragmatically structuring innovative solutions that advance client objectives while keeping business considerations at the forefront. In addition to his purchase and sale practice, Jonathan regularly represents both landlords and tenants in complex leasing transactions involving office, industrial, retail, and mixed-use properties nationwide. He is adept at negotiating against experienced counterparties, identifying leverage points, and securing meaningful concessions while maintaining a collaborative dynamic that keeps deals on track.

Jonathan began his career at Allen Matkins in the firm’s summer associate program while he was in law school. He elected to return to Allen Matkins after graduating because of the firm’s reputation for handling high-value, sophisticated deals with the responsiveness and collegiality of a smaller practice.
