Catriona is a creative strategist who applies her skills to streamline complex matters for courts and litigants alike. Her goal is to tell her clients’ story in a compelling and persuasive fashion while remaining laser-focused on the elements of legal proof required to make her case.
She has considerable experience in a broad array of business matters, including contract disputes, unfair competition claims, allegations of fraud and breach of fiduciary duty, and employee mass-raiding cases. She is also experienced in pursuing bad faith insurance coverage claims, and she has litigated class actions from both the plaintiffs’ and the defendants’ sides of the aisle. Catriona has successfully challenged state agencies’ attempts to enforce regulations without following California’s Administrative Procedure Act.
As a former federal law clerk, she is seasoned in federal procedure. Catriona clerked for both then-Chief Judge Sidney R. Thomas of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and Judge Bruce M. Selya of the First Circuit Court of Appeals. During law school, Catriona externed for Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel of the Southern District of California and served on the Executive Board of the UC Irvine Law Review. Before joining Allen Matkins, she was an associate at a prominent litigation boutique.
Catriona is a former co-chair of the Orange County Federal Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and stays involved by organizing volunteer and educational events for the legal community.
