Maxwell B. Shapiro

Max’s work includes acquisitions and dispositions for clients ranging from institutional real estate investors to developers of master planned communities to small companies and individuals. He has negotiated purchase and sale agreements against national and regional home builders on behalf of the developers of the Cotino Community in Rancho Mirage, CA and Tesoro Viejo in Madera County, CA. In addition, Max is the head of our Los Angeles office’s Buy/Sell Group. 

Max is also seasoned in commercial leasing; he represents both landlords and tenants in office, recreational, retail, industrial, medical, shopping center, and mixed-use projects in California, Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Texas, and other parts of the United States. Max was also the lead attorney representing Brookfield Property Partners in its lease of over 107,000 rentable square feet to Cost Plus Inc. for its headquarters at Marina Village in Alameda, CA.

He began his legal career as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Berle M. Schiller, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Max is also the chair of the Los Angeles office’s Community Outreach Committee.
