Lucas is a litigation associate in the Orange County office and focuses his practice on land use litigation. He regularly advises and defends clients in complex property rights and real estate disputes, including matters involving ownership, access, easements, development, and inverse condemnation.
Lucas’s experience extends to federal litigation under the Section 1983 Civil Rights Act. Earlier this year, Lucas contributed to a litigation team that achieved a significant victory in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, where the court dismissed the plaintiff’s claims with prejudice and later granted summary judgment on the client’s crossclaims. Additionally, he has experience with inverse-condemnation actions against the Western Riverside County Regional Conservation Authority (RCA), recently settling a matter in which our client obtained more than $20 million for RCA’s acquisition of the property.
Additionally, Lucas regularly advises clients on general real estate litigation matters, most recently securing a victory for our clients in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California in a highly contentious right-of-way dispute in Morongo Valley, California.
