Hayley Winograd is a senior counsel in the firm’s New York office and a member of the Litigation practice. She focuses on complex commercial disputes, with particular emphasis on real estate litigation as well as bankruptcy litigation and creditors’ rights matters, representing debtors, creditors, and creditors’ committees in Chapter 11 proceedings and related litigation in state and federal courts.
Hayley has extensive experience handling all phases of litigation, including pretrial discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediations, evidentiary hearings, and trials. Hayley also has significant appellate experience in District and Circuit Courts throughout the country, including the Second Circuit, Third Circuit, and Fifth Circuit.
Prior to joining Allen Matkins, Hayley was an associate at a prominent New York firm, where she advised clients in some of the most significant Chapter 11 cases nationwide. Her experience includes work on behalf of Highland Capital Management and Noble House Home Furnishings, as well as creditors’ committees in major bankruptcies involving Bed Bath & Beyond, The Weinstein Company, the Diocese of Rockville Centre, and Hornblower.
Earlier in her career, Hayley served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Judith C. McCarthy of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. She earned her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where she received a Wharton Certificate in Management and served as an associate editor of the Journal of Law and Social Change.
