The landlord of San Francisco office property is suing several contractors over a $130 million dispute related to alleged lead and asbestos contamination. The case stems from environmental issues that led to tenant complaints, significant financial damages, and early lease termination. The landlord had previously settled with tenant Samsara for $60 million after the tech company filed the initial complaint and vacated the property in 2021.
Partner Michael J. Betz, lead attorney for the landlord said they are preparing for trial and "look forward" to it. Betz also emphasized that they are seeking "the balance of the lost rent as well as attorneys’ fees that were incurred.”
