Marissa Dennis Recognized with the 2026 Deborah J. Broyles Law Firm Leader Award from the California Minority Counsel Program

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – September 9, 2026 – Allen Matkins announced today that Los Angeles Operating Partner Marissa Dennis is the recipient of the 2026 Deborah J. Broyles Law Firm Leader Award from The California Minority Counsel Program (CMCP). The award honors a lawyer at a CMCP member majority-owned firm who has had sustained involvement in CMCP, has made significant achievements in promoting opportunity and inclusion at their firm, and has demonstrated a personal commitment to CMCP's mission, including mentorship and the development of early-career attorneys.

Marissa exemplifies sustained leadership, mentorship, and commitment to advancing opportunity within the legal profession. A longtime CMCP leader, she served nine years on the Board of Directors and continues to support the organization through speaking engagements and conference participation, and cemented the partnership between Allen Matkins and CMCP. At Allen Matkins, she creates meaningful pathways for attorneys by working closely with associates, formally training junior litigators, and mentoring attorneys across offices and career stages.

Her service on the Management Committee, as Downtown LA Office Operating Partner, and in recruiting and office integration reflects a deep commitment to building an inclusive, connected, and thriving firm culture. Beyond the firm, she supports students from underserved and socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds pursuing law through the UCLA Law Fellows Program, and she helped establish and serves on the Board of the Allen Matkins Foundation, which funds scholarships and grants for aspiring legal and business professionals.

These awards will be presented at the Recognition Luncheon at the 2026 CMCP Annual Business Conference on September 25, 2026. The CMCP Annual Business Conference brings together industry leaders, legal professionals, and diversity advocates to celebrate these accomplishments and discuss the continued progress toward a more inclusive legal industry.
