Marshall Brozost

Partner

Marshall is a partner and Co-Chair of the Real Estate Department in the New York office and advises all participants in complex real estate transactions. He regularly represents real estate private equity funds, investment advisors, pension funds, foreign institutional investors, lenders, operators, and developers across all aspects of commercial real estate investment.

He has extensive experience in all facets of real estate transactions, including:

  • Purchase and sale;
  • Formation of joint ventures;
  • Real estate fund formation;
  • Mortgage and mezzanine financing;
  • REIT structuring;
  • Workouts;
  • Leasing;
  • Debt fund lending; and
  • Merger and acquisitions.

Worked across all asset types, with recent deals including marquee office buildings in New York, Boston, Atlanta, Washington, and Houston; multifamily properties throughout the U.S.; and development deals in major U.S. markets.*
  • Alternative investment management firm. Investing in the municipal market on the $454 million acquisition and related financing of a portfolio of 47 charter schools across 20 U.S. states from Educational Capital Solutions, an affiliate of EPR Properties.*
  • Real estate private equity firm. $570 million sale to, and subsequent joint venture with, The Blackstone Group with respect to a 16-property multifamily portfolio.*
  • Gulf-based global investment firm. (Shariah-compliant) Acquisitions and related financings of prominent office campuses and Class A office buildings in multiple U.S. markets.*
  • Real estate private equity firm. Equity and debt investments with respect to various office, retail, and mixed-used properties in New York, Houston, San Francisco, Denver, and throughout the Sun Belt.*
  • Owner of a large Manhattan office building. Second C-PACE financing transaction done in New York. C-PACE financing will play a large role in financing the compliance of NYC buildings with the New York’s Climate Mobilization Act.*
  • National real estate operator. Negotiation of a programmatic joint venture with a private equity investor.
  • European financial institution. Large and complex workout of loan secured by U.S. senior living facilities.
