As a land use laweyer, Benjamin helps clients develop projects and make smart purchasing decisions. From navigating complex regulatory schemes to persuasively advocating local governments to defending anti-development legal challenges, Benjamin employs a multifaceted and holistic approach to achieving his clients' goals within their constraints. To best serve their needs, Benjamin also takes the time necessary to learn about each client’s business and their unique issues and concerns.
Based in the Orange County office, Benjamin enjoys having a hand in shaping the community he lives and works in through his practice. In addition to transactional work and litigating environmental and land use cases, he also works with clients to ensure compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and other laws governing public agency conduct.
Creating relationships with city staff, elected officials and developers is a key part of the success of Benjamin’s practice, and he appreciates how effective collaborations between all parties helps build desirable cities and communities. While representing public agencies earlier in his career, Benjamin gained an insider’s perspective on their agency processes and decision-making. He also ran a small business prior to earning his law degree, an experience that provided Benjamin with valuable insight into his clients' operations and needs. Benjamin also served in the United States Coast Guard before pursuing a career as a lawyer.
