Work Assignments & Feedback

Our Summer Associate Program is designed to give you a real look at life as a practicing attorney. You’ll take on projects that mirror the responsibilities of a junior associate, working side by side with our attorneys to solve client challenges. From drafting substantive work product to attending hearings, depositions, client meetings, and closings, you’ll gain firsthand experience across a variety of practice areas.

To make the most of your summer, each office has workflow coordinators who help to ensure you receive a variety of assignments and the feedback you need to grow. You’ll get real-time input from the attorneys you work with, plus a mid-summer check-in to review your progress and set goals for the second half of the summer. And because our doors are always open, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to connect with associates and partners about your work, your experience, and your future. Our goal is to help you develop independent thinking and practical skills so you leave the summer with the confidence and foundation to thrive in practice.

Mentoring & Training

We are committed to your professional growth from day one. Our Summer Foundations Program kicks off the summer with three immersive days of interactive workshops, hands-on training, and social events, giving you both practical skills and the chance to build lasting connections with your class. Throughout the program, you’ll learn directly from our attorneys through training sessions across practice areas, while also gaining experience in client meetings, negotiations, depositions, hearings, and closings. Every summer associate is paired with a dedicated mentor who serves as a trusted resource and guide, and we encourage you to also seek out informal mentors to expand your network within the firm.

Our objective is simple: to provide the training, mentorship, and real-world experiences that prepare you for the next step in your career.
