Shaunt M. Kodaverdian

Partner

Shaunt is a real estate partner in the Los Angeles office. Shaunt advises private and institutional investors, owners, developers, operators, publicly traded corporations, and lenders on complex real estate transactions.

Shaunt focuses his practice on negotiating, drafting, and closing a variety of commercial real estate transactions, including single-asset, portfolio, and programmatic joint ventures; complex portfolio equity recapitalizations; acquisitions and dispositions; and mortgage, mezzanine, and construction financings. He has extensive experience advising on transactions across the broad spectrum of asset types, such as industrial, office, multifamily, hospitality, and shopping centers.

Prior to joining Allen Matkins, Shaunt practiced at a prominent AmLaw 20 firm, advising his clients on real estate transactions.

  • Institutional Real Estate Investor. Represented an institutional real estate investor in connection with the recapitalization of an approximately $1.4 billion portfolio, comprised of affordable housing projects located throughout the U.S., in which a sovereign wealth fund, as the new joint venture partner, acquired a material interest.*
  • Institutional Real Estate Fund. Represented an institutional real estate fund in connection with the formation of a programmatic joint venture to recapitalize existing multifamily assets and to pursue the acquisition of approximately $1 billion of high-quality multifamily assets located in select markets in Texas and the southeastern U.S.*
  • Family Office. Represented a family office in connection with the sale of an approximately $415 million industrial real estate portfolio located in San Francisco and Sacramento, consisting of properties totaling approximately 1.7 million square feet and two land parcels totaling 10.5 acres. The sale was accomplished through a stock-for-stock merger and into an indirect subsidiary of a publicly traded corporation.*
  • Institutional Real Estate Investor. Represented an institutional real estate investor in connection with the recapitalization of an approximately $1.4 billion portfolio comprised of industrial properties located throughout the U.S., in which a sovereign wealth fund, as the new joint venture partner, acquired a material interest.*
  • Real Estate Investment Manager. Represented a nationally recognized real estate investment management firm in the $330 million sale of an industrial portfolio comprising industrial assets located in California and Washington.*
  • Institutional Real Estate Investor. Represented an institutional real estate investor in connection with the formation and negotiation of a $220.5 million joint venture involving a public redevelopment authority and certain other parties, with respect to the investment in, and development of, a multi-phase, mixed-use, master-planned project in Pittsburg, PA, comprising an approximately 560,000 square foot Class-A luxury office building, consisting of approximately 490,000 square feet of office space above a parking podium, and approximately 16,500 square feet of restaurant/retail space, and certain related adjacent improvements.*
  • Platform Joint Venture. Represented a platform joint venture in connection with the acquisition, financing, and sale of numerous student housing apartment complexes located throughout the U.S.*
