September 29, 2025. Allen Matkins is pleased to announce that our client Midway Rising, LLC has received unanimous recommendation of approval from San Diego’s Planning Commission to move forward with its project to redevelop San Diego’s 49.2-acre sports arena site with over 4,500 residential units, a new sports arena, and commercial and retail sites. The project, with 2,000 affordable units, is the largest affordable housing project is the state’s history, will now advance to the City Council for final approval.
