Culver City’s Housing Strategy: Don’t Be L.A.

Spencer B. Kallick was quoted in an article that was published in Commercial Observer about many developers' preference to build housing in Culver City over Los Angeles. Spencer said, “Culver City didn’t just put together something to make the state happy. They put together a plan that they wanted to actually implement, and that’s very rare. A lot of cities talk about building housing. Very few make it a really clear priority.”

The article discusses the reasons that Culver City has attracted development, including housing-friendly policies, proximity to transit, technology companies like Apple and Amazon, and scarcity of land in other areas of the Westside of LA.
