LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – July 1, 2026 – Allen Matkins announced today that it has elected Philip Adams, Amarveer Brar, Brenn Coyle, David Norton, Bo Peterson, and Jason Robinson to the partnership. These new partners represent the Litigation, Land Use, Environmental & Natural Resources, Real Estate, and Construction practice groups and are based across the firm’s San Diego, Century City, Orange County, and New York offices.

Phil is a commercial litigator who concentrates on business and real estate disputes. He regularly represents owners, developers, purchasers, sellers, lessors, and lessees of commercial properties in construction, landlord-tenant, contract, tort, land use, and environmental litigation. Phil has substantial experience handling complex matters across a broad range of commercial disputes, including construction defect and delay claims, change order and mechanics' lien disputes, insurance and leasing disputes, joint venture and partnership disputes, purchase and sale agreements, guarantor liability, and veil-piercing claims. He represents clients in state and federal courts, as well as in mediation and arbitration proceedings.
Amarveer helps clients obtain and defend entitlements for commercial real estate projects, including multifamily, hospitality, office, and large mixed-use developments. Amarveer is and is skilled in California’s state and local housing laws, advising clients on the Density Bonus Law, the Housing Crisis Act, the California Environmental Quality Act, the Builder’s Remedy under the Housing Accountability Act, and other tools to bring residential projects to completion in a cost-effective manner. Amarveer also handles the entitlement and permitting of advanced energy infrastructure projects, including autonomous vehicle charging stations, battery energy storage systems, and solar infrastructure projects.
Brenn focuses his practice on joint venture and equity investments as well as complex real estate finance transactions. Brenn’s practice typically involves structuring, negotiating, drafting, and closing single-asset, portfolio and programmatic joint ventures, acquisition and disposition transactions, financing transactions (both lender and borrower side, including mortgage, mezzanine, and construction financings), and various other real estate-related transactions.
David advises clients on a broad range of real estate transactions, with a particular focus on construction, design, and development. David represents global technology companies, entertainment companies, developers, and institutional owners on various project types, including data centers, entertainment studios, office, industrial, multifamily, mixed-use, and retail.
Bo regularly advises clients on land use entitlement in all jurisdictions throughout Southern California. Bo has worked on many of the San Diego region’s most significant entitlement projects over the last several years. He has helped entitle tens of thousands of housing units and has worked on landmark local projects, including Midway Rising, the San Diego Sports Arena redevelopment, and Tailgate Park, the redevelopment of four blocks next to Petco Park. Bo also has worked on many of San Diego’s life science campuses, in addition to innumerable smaller developments.
Jason focuses his practice on debt and equity financings, acquisitions and dispositions, and sophisticated leasing matters. He draws on his extensive knowledge and experience working with investment funds, developers, and real estate firms to advise across the broad spectrum of real estate transactions. Jason has managed several large-scale leasing projects for prominent institutional landlords, tenants, and real estate investment and development firms for millions of square feet of space.
